COVID-19 Update 26.11.2021
Despite new restrictions, we are still having our weekly meetings in the church building.
Registration is not neccessary, just come.
We are 3G.
Our Statement regarding 3G:
Dear church family, friends, and visitors to GBCCoD,
The local government has increased the level of Covid-restrictions/protocol to 3G, which stands for 1) Genesen (recovered) 2) Geimpft (fully immunized) 3) Getestet (tested).
We are trying to follow health guidelines to the best of our ability for a number of reasons:
First, and foremost, there is a theological reason. We believe as “ambassadors for Christ” 2 Cor. 5:20 we have a duty to hold high the name of Jesus Christ as a good testimony “shining as lights in the world.” Ph. 2:15. There is a lot of contention right now between believers regarding the meaning of Romans 13 and the church’s responsibility of submission to authorities. Although the current restrictions are inconvenient, we at GBCCoD do not currently believe that the government is forcing God’s people to sin and break the explicit command to worship Him, specifically regarding Heb. 10:24-25 “Do not neglect to meet together”.
Second, and also very importantly, for the sake of those we love who may be at higher risk than those who have no compromising health factors. Ph. 2:3-4 reminds us to “look not only to his own interests, but also the interests of others.”. At this current time, we believe that it is worth it to go the “extra mile” for the comfort of those at risk.
Lastly, the current fines for being caught in a church service (or any other public indoor gathering which is 3G) is EURO 150 per person, and EURO 500 for the facility/church. The state has also increased its’ ability to inspect and cite those who are in violation for those who consider taking their chances.
Therefore, we as a church will be enforcing the 3G rule set forth by the government by checking the required documents prior to entering the building for our worship Service on Sunday at 3:30pm. Doing a self-test at home is not sufficient, but you can bring a self-test with you on Sunday and we test you with it officially before church. For this please come 20-30 min earlier.
Again, we understand that this is inconvenient and frustrating, but we do not feel that this is a specific attack on the church itself, and look to the example of brothers and sisters in Christ as they endure persecution for the sake of Christ to “entrust your souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” 1 Pe. 4:19
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Information about the church services
Our services include expository preaching through books of the Bible, topical sermons, congregational singing, and fellowship after the service to edify one another.
On the first Sunday of every month we commemorate communion.
Do you have kids? If your children are under 4 years old you can sit with them on our church balcony, an area with nice view to the pulpit and an opportunity to retreat into the nursery room in case your kids are getting a bit unsettled. In our nursery room you’ll be able to listen to the sermon via speaker transmission while being with your little ones.
Besides our Worship Service we meet for several other activities throughout the week. Learn more about the activities at Upcoming Events.
